Thanks for stopping by to visit Shadowland Labrador Retrievers.

We are located in the scenic town of Sherman, CT at the northern end of Candlewood Lake. Candlewood is Connecticut's largest lake, and we are very fortunate to be so close to the lake as the dogs spend a good amount of time swimming and boating on the lake.

Shadowland is a small hobby breeding kennel. We have been breeding Labrador Retrievers since 1978. Our main focus is on type and temperament. All of our puppies are raised in our home and have a "one on one" interaction with us from the moment of their birth until they are ready for their new homes.

When our puppies leave us for their new homes, we provide detailed instructions and a large binder filled with helpful information on the art of raising a puppy, as well as copies of the parents pedigrees, and their health clearances. All of our breeding stock are OFA and CERF certified for hips, elbows and eyes.

All of our puppies are sold with a limited AKC registration. We also provide a bill of sale and a two year health guarantee.

Karen is a veterinary technician and hospital manager at Ridgefield Veterinary Hospital in Ridgefield, CT. She has been in this field for most of her adult life.

After her love of Labradors, her interests include being a die hard New York Yankees fan, fishing, kayaking, photography, gardening and almost anything related to water.
Oh, and did we mention she is a HUGE Yankees fan!!
